Cornell sends condolences in wake of Boston Marathon tragedy

On behalf of the entire Cornell community, I extend heartfelt sympathies to all those who have suffered loss and injury from Monday's unconscionable attack at the Boston Marathon.

Much remains to be learned about what happened. At this time, we are not aware of anyone from our community who was injured. However, we are mindful that Boston is the home of many Cornell students, faculty, staff and alumni. Our thoughts are with them and with all those affected as we all try to make sense of the attack, which turned an event dedicated to personal triumph and celebration into a national tragedy.

Warm regards,

David J. Skorton,
President
