- 2012-2013 Cornell University Annual Report (16.6MB pdf)
January 15, 2014
It is with deep sadness that I share news of the death of Milica Mandic, a 21-year-old senior Computer Science student in the College of Engineering. She died due to illness on Monday, January 13, in Serbia.
Milica's passion for community service led her to participate in Cornell University Sustainable Design, an engineering project team dedicated to creating resilient structures in the built environment. Last summer, she worked as a software developer intern at INDAS, an engineering company in the field of industrial automation. Milica was an accomplished athlete who played tennis and competed in track and field, prior to coming to Cornell in fall 2011. She was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.
A community support gathering for students, faculty and staff will be held on Wednesday, January 22, at 4:30 p.m. in Upson Lounge, 117 Upson Hall.
On behalf of the entire university community, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Milica's family and friends. Please join me in taking a moment to remember Milica and acknowledge this unfortunate loss to our community.
