Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity placed on provisional recognition status
Effective immediately, interim suspension of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, which was imposed on February 16, 2017, is lifted, and the chapter is placed on provisional recognition status, which is a probationary status, for a period of no less than 1 year, as a result of incidents determined to be hazing with new members as well as alcohol during the new member period.
The chapter will be required to fulfill a comprehensive plan for improvement that they submitted to the Review Board. The plan includes anti-hazing education, redeveloping their new member education process, and hiring a live in advisor. They will additionally not be allowed to recruit in the fall 2017 semester. If the chapter is found responsible for a material violation of community policies or protocol during the period of Provisional Recognition Status, chapter recognition will be reconsidered.
