Vice President Lombardi offers condolences on the death of Wai Hang (Will) Lee

It is with deep sadness that I share the news that Wai Hang (Will) Lee, a doctoral student in Chemistry and Chemical Biology, died unexpectedly on Monday.

A graduate of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Will joined the graduate program at Cornell in Fall 2018. He had an interest in synthetic organic chemistry and was a member of Song Lin’s Research Group where he studied reaction methodology development. Will enjoyed bouldering at Lindseth Climbing Center and was an avid home cook.

On behalf of Cornell, I extend my sincere condolences to Will’s family, friends and faculty. Please keep them in your thoughts as we all struggle to process this profound loss. I encourage anyone who may be in need or support to use the resources listed below.

Sincerely,

Ryan Lombardi
Vice President for Student and Campus Life
