Cornell student arrested on weapons charge

A Cornell undergraduate student was charged Saturday with criminal possession of a weapon on Syracuse University’s campus.

We appreciate the swift action of the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety and the city of Syracuse Police Department, which is coordinating the investigation with multiple local and regional agencies, the Cornell University Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

We are deeply concerned by this incident and extend our support to the entire Syracuse University community. We encourage Cornell community members impacted by this news to access university resources.
